ryan giggs insists there is still plenty of confidence in the camp as united attempt to recover from two defeats and overturn an in-form bayern munich.
speaking at the pre-match press conference, the welshman said: “the belief is there.
"when you're in the dressing room and you see the players around you, the belief has got to be there because we have got so much talent within the squad."
acknowledging the 2-1 reverses against both bayern and chelsea, giggs added: "as a professional you are disappointed when you have one bad result. a couple is even more disappointing. but hopefully we can rectify that. ı am sure we will.”
bayern followed up their first-leg win with victory over schalke 04, a result which took them back to the top of the bundesliga. giggs says the reds are well aware of the test the visitors will pose.
“they are not only a good team, but they have strength in depth as well. they have got players that can come on and make a difference as well.
"you have to be wary of these teams because they have a lot of champions league experience. we knew we were up against a good side in the first leg, we just perhaps didn’t play as well as we are capable of.”
